Allison S. Tan MS, PA-C
Allison S. Tan, PA-C is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who has spent her life striving for excellence in medicine and surgery. Born in Edison, NJ, Allison started her medical journey at the young age of 9 by observing and shadowing her mother, who is a Board Certified Physician Assistant in the field of Pediatric Surgery. She went on to complete her undergraduate degree from King’s College, where she graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Neuroscience. Allison attended the highly-competitive Physician Assistant program at Rutgers University, School of Health Sciences and graduated as one of the first, second-generation Physician Assistants of the program with her M.S. in Physician Assistant.
During her time in training, Allison pursued her interest in the field of Surgery and worked extensively with a variety of specialties including General Surgery, Trauma, Breast Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery. On top of her academic achievements, Allison spent much of her free time in school volunteering for the HOPE Clinic in Plainfield, NJ to aid in the delivery of accessible medical care to the surrounding communities. In the start of the pandemic (COVID-19), Allison continued her efforts to aid her community by volunteering to assist the Rutgers University clinical study on COVID-19 that led to the development of the new FDA approved Coronavirus Saliva Detection Test. She now continues her pursuit for medical and surgical excellence by working closely alongside Dr. Barry E.
